Artist Worth Listening to: Pink Martini

The perfect music to hear as the weather gets warm.  This musical group calling themselves a "little orchestra", combines jazz, classical and latin together creating something that makes my heart dance and get in the mood for some sunny day.  Their music is spoken in multiple languages showing how lovely they are connecting internationally with their music. The cover art they have makes me realize how beautiful life can be, good for them being optimists!. This music calls for happier times for everyone who listens.

The sun has left and forgotten me
It's dark, I cannot see
Why does this rain pour down
I'm gonna drown
In a sea
Of deep confusion

Somebody told me, I don't know who
Whenever you are sad and blue
And you're feelin' all alone and left behind
Just take a look inside and you will find

You gotta hold on, hold on through the night
Hang on, things will be all right
Even when it's dark
And not a bit of sparkling
Sing-song sunshine from above
Spreading rays of sunny love

Just hang on, hang on to the vine
Stay on, soon you'll be divine
If you start to cry, look up to the sky
Something's coming up ahead
To turn your tears to dew instead

And so I hold on to his advice
When change is hard and not so nice
You listen to your heart the whole night through
Your sunny someday will come one day soon to you

Hang on Little Tomato!!!!

Anna Mae Wong

Anna Mae Wong (1905-1961) was the first recognized chinese-American actress of the world.  She faced discrimination but in her life acted in American,German and English films.  She worked in silent and sound films and starred in her own television show as a detective.  Bravo Anna.  She was a woman  acknowledged by her charm and talent.  She models how significant being a confident person will get you to the top. It did not matter that she was not a caucasian women but that she had talent and charisma that appealed to the public.

Anna Mae Wong

A PBS documentary was made to tell the life of Anna Mae Wong.  The documentary documented the challenges she faced and the stereotypes she did not go by during her stardom.  She was a lady with confidence and class. What amazes me is how she kept her dignity during a time of racism.  She did not fall into the hands of those who went against her acting career and was not confused on who she was as a person.  I feel what I am shouldn't be able to determine who I am or what I'm going to be.  Confidence and dignity are true traits that will work to a positive advantage.

Judy Garland, Anna Mae Wong, Mae West were actresses who caught the cameras eye with confidence and worked to the top.  At the age of 17, Anna Mae was starring in silent films and made it to surviving to sound films.  She starred in Shanghai Express, The Toll of the Sea ,The thief of Bagdad just to name a few.  Anna Mae Wong was an Asian American to rose to stardom despite difficulties and that makes her an important figure in my book.

Daughter of the Dragon 1931

MovieMention:Power of the Heads

The Trail Of The Screaming Forehead and the Coneheads are two great movies.  They are ridiculous, crazy, stupid and utterly fantastic. I was entertained by how quirky and fun they are to watch on those days where you have nothing to do or just want to indulge in one of those so stupid its funny kind of movie.

The Trail of the Screaming Foreheads is about a town, Longhead Bay, getting attacked by alien foreheads.  They attach onto the heads of victims and take control.
The movie makes fun of sci-fi movies from the 1950s and is filmed in a popping color.  The director Larry Blamire did a good job.  I give him a thumbs up.

Coneheads developed from the SNL sketches starring Dan Aykroyd.  It is just harmless fun to watch.
The story is about a alien family known as  the coneheads who get stuck on Earth.
Enjoy the suggested moronic movies.
